Elders
Purpose
The purpose of the Elders is to provide spiritual and administrative leadership to NCC. We understand a leader to be a person with God-given capacity and a God-given responsibility who is influencing a specific group of God's people toward God's specific purposes for that group.
Function
- General supervision and spiritual care of the church
- Administrative leadership
- Set goals and strategies in line with purpose of NCC
- Yearly evaluation of Staff
- Pray: listen and talk with God
Why call the Elders?
- When sick so they can anoint with oil and pray (see James 5)
- When physical, spiritual or emotional needs require more support
- When conflict arises between persons in the body and cannot be resolved by the individuals
- Discuss and pray regarding God's direction for those considering going into full-time Christian work
