missions
Purpose
In obedience to the Biblical command to go, the
purpose of the Missions Ministry is to help members of NCC find a place
in world wide missions (all pray, many give, some go) and to provide a
bridge between NCC and current missionaries and mission organizations
Functions
1. Educate and Inform

Biblical basis for missions
-
Missionaries: who, what, where, when, recent happenings,
prayer and praise. We will do this using bulletin inserts, quarterly update,
sermons, bulletin board, annual missions' conference.
2. Support Current Missionaries
-
Strategies: e-mail, sharing during prayer time, correspondence,
gift packages, and identifying specific projects that NCC can support.
3. Motivate/Recruit
Strategies:

Identify responsibilities of missions committee and
missionaries

Obtain and disseminate information in a timely manner

Keep youth informed about missions opportunities

Identify and plan missions outreach events in BC,
North America, and beyond

Send pastor to visit missionaries
Participation

Compassion for the unsaved

Empathy for missionaries

Desire to learn more about missions and willingness
to do outreach
